When it comes to selling cookies, Girl Scouts know what to do. This year’s cookie sale began Jan. 27, and already many girls and volunteers are reporting selling out of their original orders.

Noted journalist Lisa Ling will be the guest speaker at this year’s luncheon.

Next year will be a big one for Girl Scouts across the country. 2012 marks the 100th Anniversary of Girl Scouts, and girls in Oklahoma are already gearing up for the year-long celebration.

Girl Scout Cookies-There's An App For That!

Thin Mints, Samoas, and Tagalongs are among the six most popular Girl Scout cookie varieties that will hit the streets Feb. 11 when the Girl Scouts-Western Oklahoma 2011 Girl Scout Cookie Sale begins. Once again this year, cookies are available for purchase from the first day of the sale so customers won’t have to wait for orders to come in. The cost for a box of cookies from Girl Scouts-Western Oklahoma has not changed at $3.50 per box.

When the next governor of Oklahoma takes the oath of office in January, she will be bringing with her the words from another oath; one that includes “I will do my best to be honest and fair, friendly and helpful, considerate and caring, courageous and strong, and responsible for what I say and do, and to respect myself and others, respect authority, use resources wisely, make the world a better place.” The last line of that law is “and to be a sister to every Girl Scout.”
