Study Finds Teen Girls Have Mixed Feelings On Fashion Industry
The increased scrutiny of the fashion industry and its use of ultrathin models isn’t without validation, as nearly 9 in 10 American teenage girls say that the fashion industry is at least partially responsible for "girls' obsession with being skinny," according to a national survey released by the Girl Scouts of the USA.

Girl Scouts Names Director of Leadership Experiences
This year, Girl Scouts of Western Oklahoma has adopted a new way of providing the premier leadership program to girls. Girl Scouts offers one program to girls, and that program is leadership. There are many “pathways” that are part of that program, including troops, travel, outdoor education, special events, and many others. Girl Scouts Partners With AmeriCorps
Girl Scouts-Western Oklahoma is proud to partner with AmeriCorps members to help the Girl Scouts reach all of the girls in Western Oklahoma. Four AmeriCorps members are currently working with Girl Scout staff and volunteers to help builds girls of courage, confidence and character. Currently, GS-West council has two AmeriCorps positions open. One of the council’s AmeriCorps members is Outdoor Coordinator Tandy Keenan.
