All members are asked to pay an annual $15 membership fee and commit to serving on either the Gold Award Committee, the Earn Your Shopping Badge Committee, or the Cookies & Cocktails Committee.
Gold Award Committee
This committee exists to supports girls who earned the Gold Award, the highest award in Girl Scouting, by awarding two $500 scholarships for college each spring. The chair is responsible for the distribution of the application and the promotion of the scholarship to Gold Award recipients. The Chair will set an interview date and schedule, distribute the applications to all committee members, and manage communications with the applicants. All members serve on the selection committee and attend the Girl Award Ceremony in May.
Cookies & Cocktails Committee
This committee puts on the Cookies & Cocktails fundraiser in August each year that benefits the Gold Award Scholarship Fund. This is a ticketed event for 21 and over and is an evening of decadent deserts and delicious hors d'oeuvres concocted by local restaurants with Girl Scout Cookies with live music and a raffle. The committee is responsible for the venue, live music, restaurant selection, sponsorship solicitation, and event promotion.
Earn Your Shopping Badge Committee
This committee puts on the Earn Your Shopping Badge fundraiser in April each year that benefits the Gold Award Scholarship Fund. This is day of shopping in Classen Curve and Nichols Hills Plaza where sponsor stores donate percentages of their proceeds to the Gold Award Scholarship Fund and/or donate raffle items for the Happy Hour event. The committee is responsible for sponsorship solicitation, organizing troop cookie sales during the shopping day, the happy hour event, and event promotion.
Committee Chair: Each committee's chair sets goals and deadlines for the planning and execution of the committee and provides ongoing support to committee members.
Sponsorship/Raffle committee: Responsible for securing the funding support from potential sponsors as well as potential in-kind gifts for the event.
Restaurant Partnership committee: The committee goal is to secure 12-15 restaurant partners who provide a tasting of a Girl Scout cookie creation at the event.
Logistics Committee: The committee secures the event venue and ensures other arrangements are attended to as needed.
Scholarship selection committee: The committee is responsible for the interview process and selection of the scholarship awards.
